Time for a Change...

Hello to my friends and readers of Journey of a Thousand Hearts.
I am writing this post to let you know that I have changed the name and address for my blog.

After this post, I will no longer be posting articles to Journey of a Thousand Hearts, but will be posting to the new site, with more of the same artwork, photos and thought-provoking articles.

A Passion that Moves Mountains. . .

Three Cups of Tea, is an amazing story of one man's humanitarian crusade to build schools in the impoverished, Taliban-infested, mountains along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

After a failed attempt to climb K2, the world's second highest peak located in the remote Karokoram mountains of Pakistan, mountaineer Greg Mortenson lost his way. But what he found was so much more: A passion that literally moves mountains.

Ignited by the kindness of strangers and fueled by the startling truth of poverty and a brand of deep-rooted, anti-American hate being taught by the Taliban to the uneducated children and families in the region, Greg's passion for helping others started a trend in education that sent ripples through the consciousness of the Pakistani-Afghan people . . . and people all over the world.

Aside from Greg's selfless dedication to the cause, and the generosity of donors, what struck me most was his courage and determination. Greg faced on-going rejections, set-backs and struggles—any one of which would send most of us running for cover—but he persevered . . . because he understood that he was working for the greater good. He knew that making education available to the Pakistani-Afghan children was the only way to peace.

This book inspired me—a work of non-fiction that reads, at times, like fiction--and it put into perspective my own efforts to succeed in the world.
